Roe Resources

Here is a collection of resources and information for those looking to educate themselves and create a personal action plan now that Roe v. Wade is overturned.

  • Resources

Master Doc - Below is a google doc that has a ton of available information that you can use to educate yourself and begin formulating an action plan for yourself or to help others. It is updated automatically every five minutes. Read it in its entirety as a starting point. bit.ly/RoeWYCD

Mayday.health - For now, abortion pills are still legal for mail shipping in all 50 States.

  • Online Safety

Period Tracking - For now, go old-school pen and paper/calendar method.

There is one period-tracking app that alleges to be encrypting their data for user safety, even in case of a government subpoena, but reviews have been mixed on it. The official encryption update lands Wednesday, Jun 29. I will update with more information or remove if this info altogether.

VPN - Get a VPN for all online activity going forward. Make sure you read the VPNs policies and be sure they do not keep logs of user activity. Some minor data collection may be impossible to avoid in order to ensure that the service is running properly, and in the case of a subpoena, they may be required to hand over the fact that you are a user of their service, but if they do not keep logs of user activity there is nothing that can be followed up on. Express and Proton do not keep logs of user activity.

Browsers - Ideally, don’t use Google Chrome, and instead opt for a browser that offers a greater level of user privacy customization, like Tor or Mozilla. If you have to use Google Chrome or something more common like it, at the very least use a privacy or incognito window with a VPN.

Search Engines - Don’t use Google if possible. Opt for one that offers greater security for your search history. DuckDuckGo is the most popular alternative, but there are others.

Communication - Start using encrypted email services like Protonmail, and encrypted chats like Signal for communication. Protonmail does not log customer information, can be one-time encrypted, and has an offering of services such as Calendars and file-sharing, similar to Google. Signal is end-to-end encrypted, though I need to read even more about its security features. Apps like Whatsapp claim to be encrypted, but they are also owned by Facebook (Meta), so in situations like this, I take that with a grain of salt.
